Parks and Open Spaces Committee - agenda/minutes

Minutes of the Meeting of the Parks and Open Spaces Committee held on 3rd March 2010 at the Village Hall Great Barford.

Present: Derrick Folbigg, Di Ames, James Rudgley, Stuart Southall, and Ann Lovesey

  1.           To receive and approve APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE –      received from Adam Clements
  2.           Declarations of interest in any matter - being prejudicial or      personal. – Trevor Cooper item 3.
  3.           Projects:

     Pym’s Close – Di to devise a drawing for publication and      consultation.
     Planting schemes – it was agreed to wait for the published Parish      Plan for guidance.
     Play equipment – a youth shelter was suggested. It was agreed      that this should be a request from the youth who would be able      to drawn down funding from the Street Cred pot.
     Any new projects we might like to consider – the committee      asked to recommend to full council that garden seats were      installed around the 2 trees on the playing field. Clerk to place      on agenda. Discussion re Birchfield Road ditch took place –      agenda for full council.

4.          Tree planting & Order (Stuart) – Stuart said he would place an      order to include some hedge shrubs for the Graveyard/Church      wall boundary.
5.           Grounds maintenance – nothing to discuss
6.          Village walk – date agreed 15th April to meet 6.30pm at the      Crossroads.
7.           Litter Pick – date set for 20th March.
